Are brides choosing plump bridesmaids to a make themselves feel good?

study reveals brides-to-be are picking overweight bridesmaids to make themselves feel better
According to a recent survey from Slim.Fast, brides are doing just that with one in three admitting to recruiting a large bridesmaid in order to make themselves look and feel good on their big day.
With so much pressure on brides to look perfect on their wedding day, many are turning to drastic measures, such as asking overweight friends to play the role of bridesmaid, so as to ensure they look slimmer in comparison in the all-important wedding snaps.
It’s not just brides who are feeling the pressure according to the study, 20% of female wedding guests embarked on a diet before heading to a wedding celebration. However slimmer wedding guests were also a worry for brides-to-be with 40% saying they felt insecure standing next to skinny guests at their nuptials.
Popular strategies employed by wedding guests to combat these feelings of anxiety include buying a new outfit to boost confidence, but a further 40% said new shoes were the best pick-me-up for pre-wedding angst.
Half of the brides questioned as part of the Slim.Fast survey said they planned to lose weight before their big day.
The practice of choosing larger bridesmaids to boost the self esteem of brides-to-be was described by one of the nutritionists at Slim.Fast as a “worrying trend” as the statistics seem to suggest this is a growing problem amongst brides.
This Morning’s Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford marry in country house ceremony

160 guests joined Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford to celebrate their wedding on Saturday
This Morning presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford were married on Saturday in a romantic country house ceremony in Hampshire.
The pair got engaged last year on St Patrick’s Day after the Northern Irish host popped the question via text-message.
However Eamonn described how many of the wedding guests were confused when they received their wedding invitations as they assumed the couple, who have been together for 13 years and have an 8-year-old son, were already married.
The wedding was held at Elvetham Hotel, in Hook, which enjoys a picturesque country setting with immaculate gardens and acres of lush parkland. The happy couple were joined by 160 guests for the nuptials, including a number of famous faces such as Jeremy Kyle, Sue Johnston, Gloria Hunniford, and Barry McGuigan.
In his speech Eamonn paid tribute to his “beautiful bride” who looked elegant in an ivory wedding gown by Italian designer Angelina Colarusso. The dress featured a wide scoop neckline which skimmed the shoulders and was tight fitting except for a flared train at the bottom of the gown.
The wedding had been kept tightly under wraps so the groom relayed the happy news to fans via his Twitter page. The newlyweds have jetted off for a sunshine break along with their 8-year-old son Jack.
The couple have signed an exclusive deal with Hello Magazine for the rights to the official wedding photographs.
Renee Zellweger spotted wedding dress shopping

Could Renee Zellweger be about to walk down the aisle with Bradley Cooper?
The Hollywood actress has sparked rumours that she is about to walk down the aisle with boyfriend Bradley Cooper after she spent two hours at a designer boutique in Hollywood browsing the wedding gowns.
The star of Bridget Jones has been dating with The Hangover actor for a year now, so by Hollywood standards they are taking things slowly. Their relationship certainly seems to be heading into serious territory as the 41-year-old actress was seen having lunch with Bradley and his parents in New York this week.
Certain tabloid newspapers are reporting that the couple will be married within the next few months. Many cite the recent meeting with the future in-laws as a strong sign that a wedding is on the cards.
The award-winning actress is reported to have visited Caroline Herrera’s boutique in West Hollywood which stocks a large number of wedding dresses. A source let slip to the media, “she just kept smiling when asked if she’s getting married.” In 2005 Renee married country singer Kenny Chesney wearing a dress from the same designer. She left the shop this week having made a purchase.
Both actors have been married previously. Renee’s marriage was annulled after a matter of months with the actress citing “fraud” as the reason. Bradley married the actress Jennifer Esposito in 2006, however the pair split after 4 months of marriage. The A-Team actor dated a string of Hollywood beauties following the breakdown of his marriage including Jennifer Aniston.

Bond actress Gemma Arterton says “I do” during Spanish hilltop ceremony

Actress Gemma Arterton married Stefano Catelli over the weekend
Bond actress Gemma Arterton has tied the knot with fiancé Stefano Catelli during an intimate ceremony held on a hilltop above a beautiful Spanish village.
The bride looked radiant and a little shy as she made her entrance at the romantic service wearing a cream coloured strapless gown, with a simple veil pinned to the back of her head, and carrying a bouquet of white roses.
The couple got engaged 12 months ago after Italian born Stefano, who works as a sales manager for a British Fashion company, went down on one knee during the Download Festival last year.
The 24-year-old rising star says it was love at first sight when she met her now husband, 37-year-old Stefano. She describes going home the night after they first met and “writing in my diary that I’d met the man I was going to marry.”
The actress from Kent, who has most recently appeared in the blockbuster movie The Prince of Persia opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, is due to take time out of her hectic film career to enjoy the first few months of married life with her new husband.
The newlyweds were driven through the village of Zuheros in Andalucia in a vintage wedding car decorated in white ribbons and flowers after the outdoor marriage ceremony. Villagers came out into the streets to cheer as the bride and groom passed by in their chauffeur driven car.

Will Sienna Miller and Jude Law make it down the aisle the second time around?

Rumour has it Sienna and Jude are planning two weddings for the summer
After the Sienna Miler broker off her first engagement with actor Jude Law following reports of an affair with his children’s nanny, will the couple make it all the way down the aisle a second time around?
The celebrity couple have rekindled their romance at the end of last year, 3 years after the dramatic split, and announced they were officially back together earlier this month at a high profile function in New York. With the news that their relationship is back on, rumour has it the couple have also reinstated their engaged status.
Recent press reports suggest that plans for the actor’s nuptials are well underway and that Jude and Sienna will celebrate their union in style by having two weddings.
A source close to the couple has told a newspaper that they are planning a bohemian style marriage at Sienna’s country retreat in Gloucester, and her fashion designer sister has been drafted in to make her wedding gown. Then the newlyweds will then jet off to New York, where they have been spending a great deal of time of late, to have a second wedding surrounded by their friends in the Big Apple.
Apparently Jude and Sienna are keeping the details under wraps as they don’t want to “jinx” their wedding this time around, although their closest friends and family have been warned about the forthcoming nuptials.
David Walliams and Lara Stone make it official

Lara Stone and David Walliams married in a traditional ceremony at Claridges Hotel
Comedian David Walliams and supermodel Lara Stone are husband and wife following their lavish £80,000 London wedding yesterday.
The stars of stage and screen turned out to join the couple for the celebrations. Big names such as fashion designer Tom Ford, Alan Carr, Geri Halliwell, Denise Van Outen, Tess Daly and Vernon Kaye, Ronnie Corbett, Barbara Windsor and James Corden descended upon Claridges Hotel in London’s Mayfair to witness the Dutch model and Little Britain star exchange their vows.
The celebrity guests were served champagne and canapés in a room filled with £10,000 worth of white roses before the ceremony. The bride wore a £30,000 dress designed by Ricardo Tisci from Givenchy. The gown is reported to have been a snug-fitting cream design featuring gold brocade and lace trim. 38-year-old Walliams wore a smart grey morning suit.
The couple opted for a traditional ceremony, and we’re told a few tears were shed during the emotional marriage service. After the signing of the register, James Bond fan David chose to have John Barry’s instrumental of We Have All The Time In The World played.
The newlyweds emerged from the hotel following the ceremony to greet the waiting press with the 26-year-old bride now dressed in a gold metallic mini-dress, and the groom in a smart dinner jacket.
