The bride wore white, accessorized with white wellies, arriving on her big day on a tractor decked out with ribbons. Bride Hayley Morgan even ventured into the fields with in all her bridal dress finery to pose for the wedding photographer with a herd of cattle as their backdrop.

32-year-old Hayley and 26-year-old Michael met at a Young Farmer’s event in 2009 and have been inseparable ever since. With both the bride and groom coming from strong farming backgrounds, when it came to their wedding day the duo wanted a celebration which reflected them and their lives, which is when they came up with their special theme.

The wedding guests also felt very at home with Hayley and Michael’s wedding as nearly everyone who was invited was a farmer. The cow themed worked through into almost every aspect of the big day with the seating plan featuring tables named after cows and calves, and a British Blue themed wedding cake topped with iced cows, and guest’s names were printed on ear tags usually worn by cows. The hearty four course dinner also included as the main course, roast beef of course.

Victoria Royle was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome two years ago after being admitted to hospital with a numbing sensation in her limbs. The condition is especially rare, only affecting 1 in every 50,000 people in the UK, with sufferers being struck down with paralysis, with many being left unable to even swallow or breathe unassisted.

Despite only getting together with her professional rugby player boyfriend Nick a month before the condition struck, he stuck by Victoria and helped nurse her back to health. When Nick then got down on one knee to propose, the Hospital Assistant set her sights on getting out of her wheel chair and walking herself down the aisle on the big day.

After two years of battling her illness and hours of physiotherapy, 29-year-old Victoria achieved her goal and walked down the aisle to marry Nick.

The whole wedding can be seen on next week’s edition of Don’t Tell the Bride on BBC3 as the couple signed up to the programme, which provides £12,000 towards the big day but with the catch that the groom has to plan the whole wedding without contacting his bride. Nick and Victoria had found it hard to save up for their wedding as both had to take time off work because of Victoria’s illness which meant that money had been tight.

Bride and groom, Katie Thompson and Olly Tams, love to be different, and so when it came to wedding planning, the traditional white church wedding was never an option. Instead, the quirky couple decided to combine their love for Halloween and Bonfire night and create a fun wedding that everyone could dress up for and enjoy.

The reaction from the couple’s families to their idea of a zombie horror themed wedding didn’t go down well with everyone, and so Katie and Olly decided to marry in a register office in traditional attire, including the big white dress and smart suit, so as to not rock the boat too much. However once the actual ceremony was over, the newlyweds underwent a complete transformation, turning into Beetle Juice and Lydia for their wedding reception which was hosted at the aptly named, Hellfire Club in Manchester.

The mother of the groom revealed that she wasn’t too taken with the idea of an alternative themed wedding initially, but once she and her family started making their costumes, they soon warmed to the idea of a zombie style wedding and really enjoyed the whole experience in the end.

Almost 100 guests were invited to watch the Katie and Olly tie the knot and celebrate their special day with a Halloween style horror themed reception.

Becky Watkinson and Samson Hutson are both experienced coasteering and water sports instructors and have travelled the world together, but have now settled down to life in North Devon, Ilfracombe. When it came to finding the perfect location for their wedding, the outdoor loving pair decided a rock 1km out into the sea off Hele bay was the perfect spot.

However guests will have to either swim out to the point, or take a boat and swim the last 20m to the rock in order to join the dare devil couple on their big day. The oldest member of the group will be the bride’s 80-year-old grandfather who is actually looking forward to the swim.

While the entire party will be in wetsuits, the bride will wear a white tutu while the male witnesses, who will double as bridesmaids, will each be given pink tutus so there’ll be no doubt as to who the important members of the bridal party are.

After a bracing swim back to the shore, there’ll be hot tea and pasties waiting for the wedding guests. The reception will be in-keeping with the theme of the day as the bride and groom will host a pirate theme celebration at their local yacht club.

While all newly engaged couple want to their engagement photos to be memorable, Juliana Park and Ben Lee went one step further to ensure their first pictures as an engaged couple stood out from the crowd.

The bride and groom-to-be enlisted the help of Juliana’s work colleague, Amanda Rynda, to act as the photographer for the project, while another friend, Jason Boesch, was drafted in to play the zombie.

The series of engagement pictures shows the couple enjoying a romantic picnic in the countryside at sunset. However this idyllic image is shattered as the zombie appears in the background of the shot in the next image, and the following pictures show the couple fending off the zombie, with the final photos showing the bride striking the attacking zombie with a shovel, while the last shot shows the couple standing over the dead zombie.

The couple posted the series of images online and overnight, the kooky photo shoot became an instant hit with internet users across the world. The photographs have received thousands of hits, with many people getting in touch to congratulate the imaginative duo on their original engagement pictures.

When asked if the zombie will make an appearance at the wedding, Juliana and Ben said they hadn’t ruled out the idea, although they have their reservations about inviting the zombie along in case it upsets the older wedding guests.

For Terry and Jennifer Constant, marmite was there from the very beginning as they first met over a cheese and marmite sandwich while at university in 2003. After their studies the couple embarked on a two-and-a-half year world trip during which the pair made sure they were never without marmite, and even took pictures of themselves with their beloved spread at different landmarks around the globe.

With the yeast extract spread playing such an important part in their courtship, the couple decided marmite should take centre take on their big day.

The marmite mad bride and groom tied the knot in a ceremony in the Brecon Beacons with the groom driving to the ceremony in a marmite taxi which was used as the official wedding car on the day. Marmite hats were also supplied so the guests could get in on the fun too.

The wedding cake was decorated in white and dark chocolate with yellow flowers to resemble the colours on the famous marmite label. To ensure the wedding guests didn’t miss out on their marmite fix, the bride and groom ensured there were plenty of pots of the yeast extract dotted about the reception.

After the big day was over, the newlyweds made sure they stocked up their suitcases with a few jars of marmite ready for their honeymoon in Indonesia.

The couple chose to throw an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding with the 200 wedding guests all arriving in full fancy dress for the nuptials which were held in Tavistock, Devon. The costumes ranged from the white rabbit, to Alice herself, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, with the vicar donning a giant caterpillar outfit to conduct the ceremony.

After the colourful wedding ceremony, the guests enjoyed a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party themed reception with tea served in giant teacups, and mountains of multi-coloured cupcakes all served up as the local town hall which was decked out especially for the themed wedding.

Paula was diagnosed with Polycythemia in November after suffering ill health for a number of years. The disease causes thickening of the blood which can lead to inoperable tumours growing in major organs such as the lungs and womb. Last month, doctors broke the devastating news to the 42-year-old that her illness is terminal.

Instead of dwelling on the sad news, Paula set to work organising a fairytale wedding and a big celebration for all of her family and friends.

The bride, who donned as Queen of Hearts costume for the big day described the wedding as “by far the happiest day of my life.”

19-year-old bride Nyssa and her new husband 32-year-old Robert Taverner decided to have an unconventional style wedding to incorporate both of their tastes. The bride had her heart set on walking down the aisle in a red dress, while the groom is a self confessed “cartoon geek” and so between the two of them they came up with a wedding theme which suited them both.

Even the wedding guests got in to the act, arriving in a variety of cartoon character costumes including Betty Boop, the Incredible Hulk, Snow White and Tweety Pie.

The colourful nuptials drew plenty of attention with people hanging out of nearby windows at the local County Hall registry office to get a better look at the novel bridal party. The bride revealed that even the registrar was taken aback by the themed nuptials and the brightly coloured costumes.

After walking down the aisle to the Star Wars theme music, the couple jumped into their themed wedding car which was specially decorated to look like Benny the Cab from the movie, Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

The groom dressed up in a Willy Wonka constume and a troop of dwarfs were drafted in to play oompa-loompas

A couple from Cornwall enjoyed a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed wedding after taking inspiration from the groom’s real life job.

Groom Mark Brian works as a manager at his family’s chocolate factory in St Ives and so the couple struck upon the idea of having a chocolate themed big day based on the 1971 film version of the children’s classic, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Wedding guests received their invites in the form of a Willy Wonka chocolate bar, with a golden ticket inside inviting them to themed nuptials.

Bride Natalie Whitelight wore a traditional white wedding gown for the big day, while the 30-year-old groom transformed himself into a real life Willy Wonka with a custom made purple suit and camel coloured top hat.

Guests were greeted on the big day by a troop of dwarfs dressed in full oompa-loompa costumes and orange faces, green wigs and dungarees who handed out sweets and cream teas to the guests during the reception.

The bride and groom handmade most of the props for the wedding themselves, creating gold curtains and giant lilac coloured gates. The wedding venue was decorated with giant lolly pops sticking out from the ground, chocolate fountains, and trees with sweets hanging from the branches.

The themed wedding went down a storm with the guests, with one commenting it was the “highest calorie wedding” they’d ever been to.

A couple from Oxford took their inspiration for their big day from the Pirates of the Caribbean films

A couple from Oxford chose to exchange their vows in a “Pirates of the Caribbean” themed wedding over the weekend.

Mik Ashfield and Vikki Ludlow took their inspiration from the blockbuster movies with the groom donning a Captain Jack costume, and the bride in an Elizabeth Swann outfit to match the characters played by Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley in the hit films.

For the newlyweds, this wasn’t their first experience of pirate costumes as the pair have taken part in the Talk Like a Pirate Day event which raises money for Cancer Research UK for the past five years.

Clovelly in Devon was the chosen destination for the pirate themed big day. The couple had visited the quaint town some years earlier and thought it was the “perfect place” to get hitched. Clovelly also ties in with the pirate theme perfectly as it is famed for its connections with smugglers.

All of the wedding guests got into the spirit of things too and turned up wearing their finest pirate attire bearing cutlasses, and muskets as well for the full effect. The Jolly Roger also flew high above the wedding venue so there was no doubt as to which hotel the pirate gathering was taking place.

After the wedding celebrations, the newlyweds set sail on the Kathleen & May, the only surviving triple mast wooden schooner in the UK.
