The venue is owned by TV presenter, Sarah Beeny along with her husband Graham Swift, with the former convent’s transformation being charted in the Channel 4 show, Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare.</p>
<p>Rise Hall near Hornsea in East Yorkshire, was purchased by the couple 10 years ago for £441,101 and has undergone a complete revamp since the pair took ownership of the impressive manor house. The historic building has been painstakingly restored so the house still retains a strong sense of its past, while at the same time offering all the modern convenience expected of a high quality wedding venue.</p>
<p>Sarah Beeny and her husband described how they endured a very stressful 12 months in order to obtain the correct licensing to host civil ceremony weddings at Rise Hall, however all of the necessary documents are in place and the venue is ready to start taking bookings.</p>
<p>The 33-bed property boasts accommodation for 56 guests and also the choice of seven reception rooms and extensive grounds. The wedding venue is being managed by specialist events company, Dine, who are excited at the prospect of inviting brides and grooms to the fairytale venue.</p>
<p>Rise Hall wedding venue is available for hire on an exclusive self-catering basis, so the couple hiring the venue for their dream wedding have the freedom to choose their own suppliers from the caterers, right through to their own mobile bar hire provider and furniture hire company.</p>

<p>A couple from New York who decided to call off their wedding after booking the venue decided to put the planned event to good use by turning what would have been their wedding reception into a charity fundraiser.</p>
<p>Queens College professor Robin Rogers and her fiancé George Overholser paid $3,500 to hold their wedding reception at a Brooklyn restaurant, The Dressler, in September. However the couple had a change of heart and decided to call off their big day.</p>
<p>With the venue all paid for, and $1,000 spent on save the date cards, despite being heartbroken over the failed engagement, 40-year-old Robin decided to turn what would have been her wedding day, into a fundraising event for charity.</p>
<p>The college professor set to work having the save the date cards re-designed into invitations to the fundraiser which she sent out to community activists, and decided to start selling tickets to the event at $100 a person to receive a slap up meal and drinks, which were intended for her wedding guests.</p>
<p>The event succeeded in raising a massive $10,000 which was donated to Greenpoint Reformed Church’s Soup Kitchen. The Reverend from the church said they were extremely grateful for the money raised as the soup kitchen was “running on empty” until the fundraiser.</p>
