Music fans choose Derry Jazz as their wedding venue
A pair of jazz fans decided to tie-in their love for the music and each other by getting hitched at Londonderry’s Jazz Festival.
The couple have been together for 10 years and have been coming to Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival together for the last 7 years.
Groom Dave Donnery admitted it was his idea to hold their wedding at the bustling music event but it didn’t take long for his fiancée to jump onboard with the idea. The soon-to-be-married-couple love absolutely everything to do with the festival including the atmosphere, music and the top line-up of great entertainment so for them, Derry Jazz is the perfect place to get hitched.
The happy couple will exchange vows next Friday afternoon at Londonderry’s Guildhall before heading off to City Hotel to enjoy their reception with the first gig of the night to keep them entertained. As luck would have it, the band playing at the couple’s hotel on their wedding night happens to be their favourite.
In these times of frugality and budget weddings, holding a wedding at a music festival is certainly one way to save money on the cost of entertainment for your bash.
