bride and groom taken into police custody on their wedding night

A pair of newlyweds from Massachusetts got banged up by police on their wedding night after the bride attempted to mow down an ex-lover of her new husband in a car park.

The newly married couple were driving through the village of Barnstable, in Cape Cod, when 22-year-old Marissa Ann Putignano-Keene spotted her husband’s ex crossing through a car park along with her son.

The bride then attempted to run down the woman with her car. The groom, Timothy Keene, was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle at the time. The new Mrs Putignano-Keene was arrested by police on the charge of assault and battery with a weapon.

The victim confirmed that she had previously been in a relationship with 37-year-old Keene. She told police that the bride and groom had approached her in the parking lot as she took a short cut on her way home from work. It was at this point that the bride wound down her window and started hurling verbal abuse at her, after which she drove at the woman in a bid to run her over.

The bride was taken into police custody along with the groom who was charged with disorderly conduct. Mrs Putignano-Keene was also charged with damage to property after crashing into a fence during her attempt to mow down the victim. The couple spent their first night of married life in separate cells in the local police station.
