Knitted wedding dress range launched by West Yorkshire company
The knitted wedding dresses are made using locally sourced wool
A knitwear company owner has been inspired to create her own line in knitted wedding dresses after tying the knot herself last year.
The West Yorkshire based Todmorden Knitwear Company have recently launched their knitted wedding dress collection and say they are already receiving a lot of interest from brides-to-be.
The company owners however, are under no illusion that their woollen wedding dresses will take over from the traditional ivory silk gowns and princess style dresses the vast majority of brides favour, instead they recognise their dresses appeal to a niche market and won’t therefore be everyone’s cup of tea.
The intricate designs take hours and hours of work to create with each section being made individually before all of the components are finally assembled together during the final stages of the dress making process. Each dress is made using locally sourced wool.
Although unusual, the team at Todmorden Knitwear believe their unique designs offer brides-to-be an alternative to the traditional style wedding dress and a chance to be individual.
So if you’re looking for something out of the ordinary for your special day, maybe one of the beautifully designed and handcrafted wedding gowns from Todmorden is for you.
