EuroMillions win for couple months before their wedding

With the cost of an average wedding in the UK standing at £21,000, and with many couple choosing to foot much of the bill themselves, a lottery win in the months leading up to the big day would be a dream come true, and for one couple for Nottinghamshire, that’s exactly what happened this week…

Cassey Carrington and Matt Topham are now planning the wedding to end all weddings after scooping a massive £45 million on the EuroMillions draw last Tuesday. The couple had been saving hard for their wedding which is planned for September, but after hitting the lottery jackpot, the pair can now relax as they’ve now got a bigger budget for their big day than most celebrities!

The 22-year-old bride-to-be admitted she’d only played the lottery a handful of times before winning the top prize this week. The supermarket supervisor said she had a “feeling” she was going to win after her team won a staff incentive at work. Thinking it was her lucky day, Cassey signed up to the lottery online, and won the jackpot a few days later.

The day their numbers came up was not so lucky however, as the engaged couple who live together in Nottinghamshire, revealed that their washing machine broke down and painter Matt’s laptop broke all on the same day.

As well as spending their winnings on a wedding to die for, Cassey and Matt say they will use their money to help out their family and friends, and also use their EuroMillions to build their dream house and to buy an Aston Martin – maybe their new ride could double as a wedding car for the big day?!
