Three's a crowd for Italian bride after groom brought his mum on honeymoon
What would you do if your new husband brought his mother along for your honeymoon? Well, one Italian bride was faced with exactly that situation just before Christmas and her reaction was to beat down the door of the nearest divorce lawyer.
36-year-old bride, Marianna, married her boyfriend of one year, 39-year-old Stefano, in a church ceremony in December. The wedding went off without a hitch, but things went downhill rapidly when the groom arrived at the airport to join his new wife as they prepared to jet off to Paris for their honeymoon, with his mum in tow.
The salesman had booked a separate room for his mother at the same 5 star Paris hotel the newlyweds were due to stay, but failed to inform his new wife about the travel plans until the eleventh hour.
Unhappy about idea of sharing her honeymoon with her husband’s mother, Marianna begged Stefano to leave his mum behind, but he argued that she couldn’t be left at home as she was unwell.
Upon returning home from the overcrowded honeymoon, the 36-year-old filed for divorce on the grounds of her husband’s “excessive attachment to his mother”.
Marianna has also moved out of the home the couple shared – where Stefano’s mother also happens to be the next door neighbour…
