Couple hold Flintstones themed wedding in Devon

The newlyweds at their Flintstones inspired wedding
Two fanatical Flintstones fans celebrated their love for each other, and the cartoon, by incorporating the Bedrock characters into their wedding with the bride and groom donning Fred and Wilma Flintstone costumes to walk down the aisle.
Gayle Watson married Ed Robinson at The Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe, Devon on Tuesday of this week. The wacky pair even managed to rope their wedding attendants into joining in with the Flintstones theme as their best man and maid of honour dressed up as Barney and Betty Rubble for the big day, with their flower girl and page boy turning out as Pebbles and Bam Bam.
Even the 100 guests who were invited to the Flintstones inspired do got into the spirit of things with many turning up in caveman and cave woman outfits especially for the occasion.
The bride and groom went to great lengths to incorporate the cartoon theme into every aspect of their wedding day. Their wedding car was especially created by themselves and is a replica of the Flintstones car seen in the series, they also plastered their ceremony venue so as to create a stone cave effect, and even invited a 20foot cardboard dinosaur to the wedding to help set the scene.
The reception venue was also transformed into a cave especially for the wedding party and it even changed its name for the day from The Royal Marie Pub, to The Bedrock.
Houses of Parliament hosts its first gay wedding

The Houses of Parliament in London hosted its first gay wedding ceremony over the weekend
A Labour MP tied the knot with his partner at the Houses of Parliament over the weekend which was the first ever gay marriage ceremony to have been held at the home of the UK government.
Chris Bryant, who is Europe Minister, exchanged vows with his partner Jared Cranney, who is a company secretary, during a civil ceremony on Saturday.
Weddings which take place at the Houses of Parliament are usually held at the Chapel of St Mary, but because gay marriages are not permitted in churches at present, the civil ceremony was instead held in the Member’s Dining Room overlooking the Thames.
The happy coupled thanked the speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, and Deputy Leader Harriet Harman for making the day possible. Bercow had to obtain the relevant license from the Westminster City Council in order to stage the civil ceremony at the Houses of Parliament.
Chris Bryant, who is a former Church of England clergyman, met his partner Jared Cranney whilst out on the campaign trail back in 2008.
The first gay union at the Houses of Parliament between the Labour MP for Rhondda and his partner Jared may have paved the way for other homosexual couples to get hitched at the iconic building.
Lesbian wedding ends in bust up as bride flashes doorman then attacks him

Lesbian wedding ends with one bride getting arrested
A lesbian wedding in Swansea South Wales ended with one of the brides spending her wedding night in police cells after attacking the doorman at her own party.
A court was told this week that bride Sharon Hancox had got into an argument with the doorman after an unwelcome guest had gained entry to the party.
The 40-year-old bride, who celebrated her gay civil partnership by drinking 8 pints of larger and champagne, then allegedly pulled the top of her dress down to flash her breasts at the doorman and then called him a pervert.
After this Hancox is reported to have jumped at the doorman, striking him, accidentally, on the head with a stiletto heel she was holding in her hand. The solicitor defending Hancox said she had already taken off her shoes prior to the attack and had not done so to use the stiletto as a weapon.
The entire wedding party were then asked to vacate the premises following the assault.
Following the incident, Hancox told police she was “ashamed” and “embarrassed” by her actions.
Hancox pleaded guilty to the charge of common assault and was given a 12 month community order of which she is required to complete 60 hours of unpaid work, plus she must pay £150 in compensation, and £100 costs.

A Cardiff based wedding car rental website offering a nationwide service has just been unveiled. The new brokerage website is the latest venture from the UK’s leading limo hire provider, Limo Broker. WeddingCarHire.co.uk is the most recent addition to this burgeoning company’s portfolio which will provide unbeatable wedding transport deals throughout the UK, using a sophisticated brokerage system.
The brand new wedding car hire website (http://www.weddingcarhire.co.uk/) offers superb value for money for couples searching for luxurious, but affordable, wedding transport in the UK. The introduction of the new service couldn’t be more timely, as more and more people are shopping around on comparison websites to ensure they get the very best deal on their desired service.
As specialists in the transport industry, weddingcarhire.co.uk are able to provide a highly professional and competent service. With their expertise, and years of experience within the luxury transport business, customers couldn’t wish for a more capable company to take care of them on such a big day.
Limo Broker paid a premium for the rights to the domain name weddingcarhire.co.uk but they believe the gamble is already starting to pay off. With the peak wedding season fast approaching, the company are already reporting that popular dates during July and August are fully booked.
Managing Director of both Cardiff Bay-Based companies, Tej Randeva, says he was keen to offer a chauffeur-driven transport service dedicated to weddings, as he explained: “We have been providing wedding car hire through Limo Broker (http://www.limobroker.co.uk/wedding-cars/rolls-royce-phantom-hire.htm) for years, however we felt it was important to offer these customers a complete service geared specifically to wedding day transport.”
In these times of economic uncertainty, Limo Broker certainly seems to be bucking the trend. Where other companies are falling by the wayside, Limo Broker is gaining momentum. The company’s very healthy predicted turnover for 2010 stood at GBP5.5 million. However, with the introduction of the new wedding car hire venture, they are now looking at an estimated turnover figure for 2010 of GBP8.5 million; that is an added GBP3 million just as a result of the new service.
The new website has hit the ground running is already reporting a surge in bookings for 2010. The company is now recruiting more wedding car hire operators from all over the UK as they struggle to keep up with the demand for chauffeur driven wedding vehicles.
With the new service well under way and already displaying promising signs, Mr Randeva is very positive about the future of the company: “Weddingcarhire.co.uk will strive to ensure that every bride and groom who travel with us receives a service which is nothing short of perfect, and with our extensive experience in the industry, we’re adamant we can deliver.”
