Connie Fisher announces her engagement
Connie Fisher and new fiancé Jeremy Reed
Connie Fisher has this week announced her engagement to boyfriend, Jeremy Reed. The 40 year-old banker went down on one knee after watching Connie perform at the opening night of The Sound Of Music Tour in Cardiff. The thrilled musical star agreed immediately and admitted she was “deliriously happy.”
The happy pair enjoyed a whirlwind romance after meeting less than year ago. Only last September Connie told of her heartbreak after splitting with her boyfriend of 5 years, Neal Williams. Despite her pain following the break up, the 25-year-old singer revealed she hadn’t given up on love and was excited at the prospect of being back on the single’s market.
She didn’t have to wait long either, Connie found Mr. Right sitting on a bench at a train station platform. After a brief chat the pair boarded separate trains without exchanging numbers. They may never have met again had it not been for smitten Jeremy’s detective work. He called on a friend who knew the Welsh Tenor Bryn Terfel, whom Connie had worked with previously, and got a message through to the object of his affection using the opera star.
Luckily Connie had been secretly hoping to hear from her mystery train man again so she was ecstatic to receive the call from Terfel asking if she’d like to meet with handsome stranger. On their first date loved-up Jeremy presented Connie with a toy train as a thoughtful reminder of their first meeting.
Wedding plans will have to be put on the back burner for now as Connie is currently reprising the role which made her famous. The singer form Pembrokeshire shot to fame on the BBBC1 talent search headed by Andrew Lloyd Webber “How do you solve a problem like Maria?” She will be touring the country as Maria until early 2010.
