Bride goes into labour walking down the aisle

A bride from Ohio had to make a quick getaway after going into labour at her own wedding reception

A bride from Ohio went into labour whilst walking down the aisle on Saturday.

Jamie and her fiancé Mark had wanted to tie the knot before the baby arrived, but only started to organise the wedding just two weeks earlier. With just a week to go until the baby was due, they thought they would have just enough time to spare.

Blushing bride Jamie Phillips got through the marriage ceremony, thinking the contractions were a false alarm. It wasn’t until her waters broke at the wedding reception that she finally realised the baby was about to arrive on her wedding day.

With 100 wedding guests enjoying the post wedding celebrations, it was up to Jamie’s maid of honour, Mary Anthony, to break the news to the party. However none of the guests could quite believe it as it had been a running joke that mother-to-be Jamie might give birth on the big day.

The bride was whisked away from her own wedding reception and taken to the hospital still wearing her wedding gown. The nurses were even shocked when the newlywed arrived wearing her ivory dress and veil.

A short while later Jamie and new husband Mark welcomed their baby boy into the world. They’ve named him Tova and say they couldn’t have wished for a better wedding day with new dad Mark saying, “I’m absolutely thrilled, I’m still floating.”
